Indo Western Dresses - A Perfect Blend of Traditional Indian Clothes and Exotic

Posted by nihalfashions on February 9th, 2015

Indo western dresses combine traditional and exotic elements with style and a unique flair. These dresses reflect ancient tradition and culture, and can show off the heritage of the wearer. The most stylish and colorful Indo western dresses are commonly worn during special occasions like weddings, but they can also be worn on occasions that require a woman to be in traditional clothing. They can make anyone glamorous and fashionable.

The saree is among the most graceful and elegant Indian dresses ever to be designed. It amplifies a woman's femininity. The dress is a long strip of fabric that is unstitched and draped over the body, and it usually paired with a stylish choli or blouse. Designer sarees are preferred for their variety of lush fabrics, striking colors, and attractive designs.

A saree is typically 4.57 meters to 8.23 meters long, and it is commonly wrapped around the waist. Sarees may be made of chiffon, cotton, silk, embroidered brocade fabric, or georgette.  Lightweight sarees are worn during the day, and heavier fabrics are meant to be worn at night. Bridal sarees have more elaborate designs.

The designs of sarees have evolved in different parts of India. West India, for instance, is known for their resist-dyed sarees, while North India is famous for its brocade saree. Embroidered sarees with gold thread is common in South India, while the Bengal-like sarees in deep blue, purple, and red are predominant in the east. Western women usually wear long skirts with their sarees, and women from the North typically wear their sarees with trousers.

Tunics are another type of Indian clothes with a touch of western style.  These are contemporary dresses that can be worn day or night, for casual and semi-formal occasions alike. A kurti or tunic is the contemporary version of Salwar Kameez. Tunics are beautifully designed with high-quality fabrics and stitched carefully with strong threads. They are versatile clothing that can be worn over Churidar or a pair of jeans.

Tunics are comfortable to wear because of their loose fit, and they appear modest due to their length and cut, which is designed to cover the hips. Many tunics are longer, with a length that may brush just above the knee or go beyond the knee up to the mid-calf. Indo western tunics are available in various sleeve lengths, usually in short and quarter sleeves, but there are modest sleeveless options.
