From Farmer to CupPosted by daviddon on July 22nd, 2015 It’s true, getting to each and every coffeefarm yourself to make the agreements is not the easiest nor most efficient way. But let us tell you that it pays off, on many levels that is. Traveling through the Indonesian Coffee Islands, from Jungle to open highlands, and from outstretched valleys to rough volcanoes, we searched and found farmer communities who were willing to work together on this project. Barely having a matras, eating simple, fresh homegrown food, often without any connection to the outside world except for some lost tourist every few weeks, Indonesia and its Island people have left a great impression on our way of seeing things. Experiencing the real deal from early dawn to dust, we could not have been hosted more hospital and in better conditions than on these coffee islands and therefore the whole trip was truly authentic. Brave people, strong people, good people. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
