5 Ways to Get Perfect Skin Naturally

If, like us, you have woken up in the morning, took one look in the mirror and quickly rushed to the back yard for trowel to apply your make-up, it may be time to change your beauty regime. Instead of hiding your skin under heavy layers of foundation you can use essential oils for skincare to get your skin glowing in no time. By following these 5 easy steps to get perfect skin naturally, you will save yourself a small fortune in beauty products.

1.    Avoid Chemical-laden Cleansers
We all remember those crazy teenage days when we spent hours scrubbing our skin and using industrial strength cleansers to try and get rid of those nasty blackheads. What we didn’t realize is that we were probably doing more harm than good. Our face is one of the most gentle parts of our body and we need to treat it with the kindness is deserves. Replacing store-bought cleansers that are full of chemicals with pure organic essential oils can elevate your skin and have it looking as peachy as a baby’s bottom. Jojoba, geranium and bergamot oils are all great options for those who are prone to oily skin and breakouts. Lavender and Patchouli are both good choices for everyday use and for those with combination skin.

To keep your skin feeling fresh and dirt free we recommend that you cleanse once a day as part of your morning routine.

2. Lose the Toner
Toner is often sold alongside cleansers and moisturizers as part of a ‘three-step regime’, and while beauty companies may have looked into the science behind this process, they could be encouraging dry skin. Toners were introduced to the beauty market to restore a natural PH balance after washing your face with soap, but the fact is that most cleansers now have the ability to restore your PH balance. If you feel that your skin will benefit from the use of a toner, cedarwood and lavender are both essential oils that have astringent properties that many commercial toners use. By using natural essential oils as toners, there is less chance that your skin will dry out and look older than it really is.

If you do want to use natural toners on your skin we would recommend that you do this no more than once per day and, if possible, every other day.

3. Use Natural Fragrances
Scented beauty products may smell nice, but they are often one of the biggest skin irritants. Often beauty products are fragranced so that the smells of the active ingredients are simply masked in a positive way, meaning that they have no real benefit to you. If you want to use fragrances on your face then you need to look at the best essential oils for glowing skin and steer clear of artificially fragranced products. The oils that will be kindest on your face and can be used in facial products are apricot kernel oil and jojoba oil, both of which can be expensive but are very gentle on your skin. If you find that your skin is very sensitive it is best to avoid fragrant oils and stick to non-fragrant essential oils such as olive oil or avocado oil.

4. Let Your Moisturizer be Your Best Friend
Life is not very kind to our skin and at times we really put in through the mill. The best present that you can give your skin to say sorry is by investing in a good moisturizer and applying it regularly. When we say invest in a good moisturizer, we do not mean run out and spend hundreds of dollars at the beauty counter, but taking the time to research what moisturizer works best for your skin type. Moisturizers that contain essential oils such as sandalwood and frankincense can quickly alleviate dry skin patches on your face and neck and keep it at bay with regular use.

We recommend that you moisturize at least once a day but preferably twice a day. You will want to use a lighter essential oil, like jojoba, for your morning regime and leave heavier oils, like avocado for evening or overnight use.

5. Apply Anti-aging Products Regularly
As you enter your later years you will begin to notice deep wrinkles in your face and neck, especially when your skin is dry and has been damaged by the sun. As essential oils for anti-aging skin care contain fat loving ingredients, they prevent water loss and plump the skin with moisture, so that wrinkles fade away. Our favorite natural ant-aging skin care products use contain essential oils such as neroli, rose, and rosemary. There are dozens of great oils to help keep your skin looking plump and wrinkle free and we encourage you to try out a few so that you get the perfect match for your skin.

To keep on top of those cheeky wrinkles, it is wise to use essential anti-aging oils as part of your daily beauty regime. We don’t like to see people obsess about getting old and a few frown ones here and there shows that you like to smile, right? Instead, we take a sensible view of doing a few simple tasks every day rather than get to forty and panic that you have more wrinkles than a pug all of a sudden.

The essential oils that we have spoken about are just a few amongst many that can be part of your organic anti-aging ski care product collection. By following these basic steps, alongside a healthy diet and exercise regime, your skin will be glowing in no time and you will have us to thank for that!
