Making Charm Cartier Bracelets for Girls

Before making the charm bracelets you’ll need for your daughters, take what you know about each one of them and start visiting hobby stores and the jewelry counters of discount stores. What? Discount stores? Yes, because the charms will get banged around on hard surfaces. Buy several charms that represent things your girls enjoy and separate them into sandwich bags – one for each child.

What Kind of Chain to Use

Here, you have a choice. You’re probably better going with a traditional chain link bracelet. The links need to be large enough that you’ll be able to slip jump rings into individual links as you join charms to chain.

If you prefer, use a rope chain, but stock up on spacer beads so the charms won’t jumble up in a tangled mess.

Putting the Charm Cartier Bracelet Together

Using jewelry pliers, open one jump ring per charm. Slip a jump ring onto the ring that each charm should have on it, then slide the still-opened jump ring onto one link of the charm bracelet. Carefully squeeze the jump ring closed with the pliers. Continue joining jump rings to charms, then to a new bracelet link until you’ve filled the bracelet.

If you have decided to use a rope chain, you’ll have to find the kinds of charms with large holes through their centers. Because you won’t be connecting jump rings to this bracelet, simply slide the chain through a charm, then a spacer bead, a second charm, and a second spacer bead until you’re finished.
