Hikers wanting to check out the southwestern coast of Puerto Rico should stop by Guanica State Forest. Numerous animal and plant species live within the forest. When hiking here, keep in mind that it’s a dry forest, so you need to bring enough water for the adventurous walk. Nature’s soundtrack floats through the valleys and mountains of Puerto Rico’s interior, where visitors become explorers and discover a rich agricultural heritage. Listen to the patter of rain on coffee plants of the island’s historic plantations. Like Napa or Sonoma wineries, Puerto Rico’s coffee-growers offer tours and tastings, too. Visitors can park in front of the beach, and, across the PR-187, grab a bite to eat in some of Piñones’ best beach shacks. Sample local delights such as alcapurrias, , or pastelitos, . Travel back in time to the 16th century when Fort El Morro and Fort San Cristobal provided protection from attacks. The forts, located in Old San Juan are not open at this time because of COVID, but visitors can still admire the imposing stone walls. Here are things you can do in Puerto Rico, all while social distancing. I organized them by things to do in the north, central, south, east, and west to make it easier for you to find things to do in your area of interest. Be aware that El Yunque Trail has a difficulty rating of moderate to challenging. Translated to the ditch, this is one of the town’s off-the-beaten-path wonders. La Zanja is a natural pool created when the waves from the Atlantic crash on the rocks and fill in the long, “ditch-like” indentation. If you like adventure, it’s about a 20 to 30-minute hike from Seven Seas to this secluded location, and you’ll get to enjoy some scenery along the road less-traveled. It is nocturnal and prefers to remain under cover during the day and hunt at night. The Puerto Rican racer (Culebra Corredora; Alsophis portoricensis) grows to 3 feet (0.91 m). His body sports a solid brown color with each of his scales edged by a darker brown. Like the forest's other various garden snakes, it is caribbean a daytime hunter. They spend nearly their entire lives underground but do sometimes take cover under rotting trees. At the highest elevations, near the top of Cerro de Punta, Cerro Maravilla and similar peaks, grows the Bosque enano forest, also known as dwarf forest, cloud forest, elfin forest and moss forest. But it’s one of the most exotic sights you’ll see on the island and well worth the effort. Chiang Saen, is famous for its beautiful landscape sitting by Maekhong river and its rich history of Chiang Saen Ancient City and Golden Triangle. Gin's Maekhong View Resort & Spa provides the best commodation for your vacation. Yes, Hotel Toro Negro offers an airport shuttle for guests. So when you’re here, be sure to check out popular spots like Havana Steak House, Steak House Old Oak Staria Dab, and Shipka Steak House, which are serving up some great dishes. Then look no further than Hotel Toro Negro, a small hotel that brings the best of Golden Sands to your doorstep. Trail 2 and Trail 4 on their map are just DRNA maintenance routes — short in and out roads, not really hiking trails. We never did find Trail 10 from their map, and the ranger said not to bother looking for it. Also, their map shows a trail that cuts across from Trail 5 to Trail 9 without having to go on the road. Save yourself a headache and print out our trail map and take it with you. Though there are various forest regions in Toro Negro, all of the hiking trails are located in one area. That would be near the administration office / ranger station on Route 143 KM 32.4 in Villalba. During your stay, take advantage of some of the amenities offered, including a 24 hour front desk, room service, and baggage storage. Guests of Hotel Toro Negro are also welcome to enjoy an on-site restaurant. For travelers arriving by car, street parking is available. European river cruises are perfect for those who want a vacation on the water but do not have a boat licence or sailing experience. Get closer to nature, hear the sound of the ocean and enjoy a wonderful view at sunrise and sunset with our attractive Aqualodge floating villas. Climb up to watch the sunset over the bay from a popular viewpoint up high at Es Verda, near Cala d’Hort, Ibiza, or sway to the Balearic beats at Cafe del Mar. All offering an ambience of a beautiful view of Maekhong River for singles and couples as well as families with children. Having been a family run business at Chiang Saen, the owner and the staff are happy to bestow extra comforts and services sought after by modern traveler.
