Indonesia and Southeast Asia produced more than 80% of total palm oil production in recent years. Palm oil is a semi-solid fluid at room temperature, unlike palm kernel oil. Palm oil is widely used in cooking different dishes, desserts, cuisines, etc. Some popular and mostly eaten foods such as bread, muffins, cookies, cereals, chocolates, Margarine, coffee creamers, etc. are also prepared using palm oil for the savory flavors.

In addition, palm oil consumption can provide certain health benefits because it contains vitamin E, antioxidants, and it also enhances the efficiency of vitamin A in the body. But, according to some researches, palm oil can also cause high risks to health diseases, as it can effectively increase the level of cholesterol in the body.

Furthermore, palm oil is the storehouse of 100% fat that can also harm human health if consumed excessively. The unrefined palm oil is red which contains carotenoids. Due to the popularity of palm oil in food production, the excessive production of palm trees is needed. But that is also destroying the environmental balance. Due to deforestation, our nature also gets affected badly and disturbs the natural life cycle.

Moreover, reheated palm oil is generally used to make chocolates and some of our favorite desserts, which can cause potential health risks and increase unwanted fat in the body. That’s why it would be better if we avoid eating foods with palm oil. In order to stay healthy and keep our environment safe, we need to add palm oil-free chocolates, and other foods with no added reheated palm oil.
