Important Topics Taught In a Business Management Degree

Knowledge in business management will help you excel in almost every career path out there. If you are ambitious to achieve your goals, this qualification will help you can the skills you need to acquire. The ABE (Business Management) qualification has been designed to offer students the requirements needed for a successful management career.

Throughout the ABE course, you will come across entrepreneurship. This is a great advantage for students as employers greatly value staff who demonstrate such abilities. Further, in an ever-changing job market, having to know how to start your own business and being able to identify rewarding opportunities is an extremely valuable life skill one can possess.

Entry Requirements

Here are the entry requirements you will need to apply for a Business Management degree:

  • Diploma Level 4- There are no formal prerequisites.
  • Diploma Level 5- You will require an ABE Certificate Level or Diploma Level 4 (at least 3 units passed) or passed Two \\'A\\' Level or At least 2 years of work experience. Applications must include a reference letter from employer(s) or Qualifications that may be accepted by ABE as being equivalent to the above-mentioned.
  • Diploma Level 6- ABE Diploma Level 5 or A UK Degree or equivalent or Three years supervisory/managerial working experience. Applications must include a reference letter from employer(s) or Other recognized qualifications of approved Institutes of Higher Education.

Course Structure and Subjects

There are three stages (levels) in the ABE Program for a Business Management degree.

Level 4 Diploma (60 credits) consists of 4 units: -

  • Dynamic Business Environments
  • Enterprising Organizations
  • Employability and Self Development
  • Finance for Managers

It is mandatory to complete all four units to be awarded the qualification. Students have the choice of starting the level 5 units without entirely completing level 4 or while waiting for Level 4 results.

Level 5 Diploma (120 credits) consists of 6 units: -

Four (4) compulsory units:

  • Managing Agile Organizations & People
  • Innovation & Business Performance
  • Effective Financial Management
  • International Business Economics & Markets

Plus, students must choose 2 optional units from the following:

  • Operations Management
  • Analytical Decision-making
  • Managing Stakeholder Relationships

It is mandatory to complete 6 units (4 compulsory units and 2 optional units) to be awarded the qualification.

Students who have completed the ABE Level 5 qualification, may enroll in the final year of the University of Hertfordshire’s BA (Hons) Business Administration at CTS College.

Semesters

The accelerated learning model enables students to complete their Business Management Degree in the shortest time possible. Many undergraduate and postgraduate programs have started to opt for this model. Colleges deliver the ABE program using the accelerated learning model of 3 semesters per year. Each semester will run for a period of 3 months. In this way, students will be able to complete a level in as little as 6 months (i.e., 2 semesters). If you wish to progress at a slower pace, the flexible semester system allows students to study one unit at a time and complete a level over a duration of 18 months.

In Semester A, tuition is provided for the assignment units. While in Semester B, tuition is provided for examination units. In Semester C, tuition is provided for both assignments and examination units. This efficient structure gives students a choice to start in any semester (A, B, or C) and completes the course in the next semester, thereby finishing the course within 2 semesters.
