ACSR Conductors (ACSR) are stranded conductors with several aluminium wire layers on a stimulated steel core. As the diameter increases, the single-wire steel core becomes thicker. Class A, B, and C galvanisation are provided for corrosion protection. The amount of aluminium and steel used in this conductor is determined by the amount of current-carrying capacity and mechanical strength required for the application. This conductor will be more costly because of the possibility of alloy development. AAAC has a higher tensile strength than AAC, ideal for longer spans.

Steel Reinforced Aluminium Conductor (ACSR)

Conductors with ACSR conductors contain steel material. Overhead earth wires, extra-long span installations, and river crossings get benifitted from the high strength of ACSR conductors. Different tensile strengths and Creosote Oil are used to make them. The radiation limit may be raised significantly due to the large diameter.
