How Can Carbon Capture Help Heal Our Planet

Posted by Canadian Systems Ecological Foundation on August 29th, 2022

Rising levels of environmental pollutants and greenhouse gases are destroying our planet. Overexploitation of natural resources is bringing us closer to the point of no return every day. The earth can restore its health but only with our continuous support, such as making a donation for tree plantation.

Many non-profit organizations have made it their highest priority to bring back ecological balance to the world. It would take an effort from everyone to get the world back on track and preserve the beautiful life that exists.

Natural Carbon Captors

Trees have the ability to capture the carbon dioxide present in our atmosphere. It’s just that we are now producing more than the current green cover can handle. Additionally, deforestation is only making the situation worse, putting the flora under extreme stress.

If we want to prevent artificial disasters like extreme heat waves, loss of ecosystems and biodiversity, declining global food stocks, rising sea levels, and proliferation of novel diseases, we must act now. There are three primary ways we can limit the excessive production of carbon dioxide:

1. Curbing the use of sources that emit too much carbon dioxide.

2. Making efficient use of the natural resources we have.

3. Constantly capturing and storing some of it present in the atmosphere.

Nature is the perfect mechanism for capturing and storing the carbon dioxide emitted. However, there is a limit to what they can capture. However, every person’s donation for tree plantation matters, regardless of how little it is.

How Much Can Nature Do?

According to a recent study conducted by The Nature Conservancy in collaboration with 15 other organizations, “natural climate solutions” like the conservation, restoration, and management of land to increase carbon capture or avoid greenhouse gas emissions globally can reduce emissions by up to 37 percent by 2030.

This reduction can keep worldwide temperatures under the 2°C mark; the maximum temperature rise the world can bear before its ecosystem starts to collapse.

We Need to Create that Chance!

Mitigating the effects of climate change begins with our actions today. Nature desperately needs our help, and if we delay our nature conservation actions anymore, we will doom our survival.

One of the most vital sectors that can contribute to combating climate change is forestry and agriculture. There is enormous potential to transform working lands from carbon emitters to carbon-capturing places.

Conclusion

Every person can contribute to climate action goals by assisting the initiatives undertaken by nonprofit organizations. With the help of donation for tree plantation, we can allow nature to heal our precious earth.
