Marketing management made simple for professional medical billing

Marketing has been around since the late 1800s, in the good old days it was a process of moving goods from producer to consumer. With an emphasis on sales and advertising, digital marketing has been around since the birth of the internet in the ’90s.

In principle, the method is still the same only now everything is available on a device and at your fingertips, you would think it would be easier. In some aspects, it is but as the way that the old interweb has expanded and evolved the way we have to search has also changed.  Everything online is now consumer-driven and with that in mind, the way an item or service is wanted and searched for has evolved into a more personal search experience.

The outcome of a search, in this case, let's use something like a search for “Prevention and rehabilitation of substance abuse” the keywords have to be included in the heading and description.

So There are four P’s that we need to concentrate on when it comes to marketing

1.. PRODUCT... Creating a marketing campaign starts with an understanding of the product itself. Who needs it, and what you offer in your private practice

2.. PRICE… is the amount that consumers will be paying or willing to pay for your service.

3.. PLACE… Is there a consideration of where the product/services are available office/home and online and how it will be read on your website?

4.. PROMOTE… The goal of promotion is to communicate to future clients that after initial contact is priced appropriately. Promotion encompasses advertising, public relations, and the overall media strategy for your services and promotions etc.

A good example of using the 4 P’s would be this page on medical billing solutions this page indicates the products and services offered.

As a psychologist, counsellor, physiotherapist, etc running a private practice, the services that you offer need to be communicated on your website. Clearly stating what services your private practice offer including contact details, session rates etc.

Over my research in the last few months, there are still many practitioners using outdated old Google webpages, paying heavy subscription fees on directory websites, and having your website can and will free up a lot of money from subscriptions. The site should be configured so that you can be easily found in and around the location you work.

Having the correct wording on your site is also a must, the services you offer are just as critical as the words that are being used in a search for example... If you are a counsellor, you need to state who you counsel. Do you help people with depression, anxiety etc, or do you work with anger issues in adolescents?

Those words & other keywords have a place on your website, as I explained earlier, a google search has become more personal, for those searching for a councillor.  The words used in a specific search could be “councillors who work with depression” or “anger management for my teen”. The outcome of an optimised search would include the type of counselling you offer, add your location into the mix and Google lists you and your practice. Make sure that you embed the Google map of your location on your website as well.
