Established in 1983, Cygnus pioneered the original Multiple Echo technology to obtain accurate thickness measurements through coatings and has since been a leading manufacturer of ultrasonic thickness gauges which are well recognised by marine surveyors and employed in almost every industrial application around the world.

Through successful diversification, Cygnus ultrasonic testing equipment range now offers three UT product lines – ultrasonic thickness gauge, ultrasonic hatch cover leak/tightness tester, and a flooded member detection (FMD) system.

About Us

Cygnus Instruments was incorporated in 1983. Our original line was focused on the NDT of ship hulls but has grown to include a full range of UT thickness meters as well as Ultrasonic Hatch Leak Detectors, Ultrasonic Tightness Testing, and Flooded Member Detection equipment. Everything is made by us in the UK to the highest standards and we are proud of our extensive global customer support network. Our specialism is highly ruggedized and simple to use UT equipment for corrosion inspection, subsea IRM, and asset integrity management (AIM).
