However, he soon made his presence felt in the world of professional tennis. His father, Christian Ruud, was a top tennis player who made it to the final of the U.S. Clay Court Championships. In the same year, Ruud was the first Norwegian to reach the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament. Casper Ruud is a professional tennis player who started his career in 2015. He is the first Norwegian to reach the ATP Tour and is ranked No. 39 in the world. Ruud also reached the quarterfinals of a few ATP Tour Masters 1000 tournaments. He has a deep love for golf and enjoys playing both sports. Ruud is a right-handed player. He was inspired by Rafael Nadal when he was a youngster. His father was a former professional tennis player and he grew up playing the sport with his father. Ruud started playing tennis at an early age and plays best on clay surfaces. His hobbies include golf, watching NHL, and eating Asian food. In 2017, Ruud reached his fourth major tournament, the Australian Open. He defeated world No. 4 Alexander Zverev.
