Bath bombs are a small compressed mixture of dry and wet ingredients molded in any of many shapes and then loosely dried. The ingredients are added to a carrier which might be some other liquid such as lotion, foam, or cream, then poured into a mold, lined with cloth or paper, and allowed to dry. The ingredients are usually perfumed, such as lavender, chamomile, orange flower, eucalyptus, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and lilac.

Growing preferences for aromatherapy for relaxation among the working population is driving the market growth of the bath bombs. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, employment increased to 12,860,700, and the unemployment rate decreased to 6.8%. Increasing disposable income coupled with the improving living standard is again contributing to market growth. Growing demand for essential oil due to rising consumer awareness regarding essential oil is expected to have a positive impact on the market of bath bombs. Bath bombs help hydrate and nourish the skin due to the presence of essential oil. Furthermore, growing awareness regarding bath bombs is further projected to foster market growth over the forecast period.

North America is expected to gain significant growth over the forecast period and this is attributed to the increasing female working population in the region. According to the Catalyst (a workplace that works for women), in 2019, there were 76,852,000 women aged 16 and over in the labor force, representing close to half (47.0%) of the total labor force. 57.4% of women participated in the labor force, compared to 69.2% of men. In 2019, women held 51.8% of all management, professional, and related occupations.
