How to Start Mining

The Iceriver Kas Ks0 is a powerful ASIC miner for the kheavyHash cryptocurrency Kaspa. It is capable of producing a hashrate of 100GH/s while consuming only 100W of power. This makes it a great choice for those looking to begin mining KAS. However, it should be noted that the arrival of ASICs like this on the Kaspa network is expected to dramatically increase mining difficulty and Hashrate: 1TH/s reduce rewards for GPU miners. As a result, the window for profitable GPU mining may soon close. For this reason, it is important to carefully consider your options before making a purchase.

Getting Started with Mining

Before you can start mining, you'll need to train some skills. Most importantly, you'll need to train your Navigation skill to Level III, and you'll also need your Ship Engineering skill to Level II (or better). Those skills will help you use your mining frigate, and they're the only ones you'll need for basic mining until you can afford to train more advanced skills like Mining Barges or Exhumers.

Once your ship is equipped, you need to get into a system with some asteroid belts and start warping around. To locate asteroids, you'll use your Overview Window. This will show you all of the objects that your scanners can see, and it will give you information about each object. You'll want to look for systems with asteroid belts that contain a lot of the ore that you want to mine.

When you find a system with some asteroid belts, open your Overview window and click on the asteroid cluster that you want to mine. You will need to lock the asteroids as targets, so that you can start your mining lasers on them.

You may need to destroy the NPC pirates ("rats") that guard some of the asteroid belts, so it's a good idea to carry a few turrets and a Salvager I drone in your ship. Once the rats are dead, you can salvage their wrecks to get some valuable minerals.
