How to naturally prevent stretch marks?

Stretch marks are those white or visible lines that you see on the skin surface. They are usually seen on the abdominal area, thighs, back, breasts, and upper arms. These marks appear when the skin expands and then contracts over time. If you look at the cross section of the skin, you will be able to see that the skin has 3 layers – outer epidermis, middle dermis, and the inner hypodermic layer. Stretch marks are caused when there are structural changes in the middle layer. When the skin expands beyond the skin’s flexibility power, streaks of discolored skin are seen. You can go for stretch mark treatment in a professional skin care clinic, if the condition is worse. There are many natural methods that can be used for stretch mark removal, if done in the early stages.

There are many reasons for the appearance of stretch marks. Some of the common causes of these skin discoloration streaks are pregnancy, sudden loss or weight gain, and fast growth. Stretch marks are also heredity.  During puberty, when there is rapid body growth, stretch marks appear on the shoulders in boys, and on the hips, thighs, and breasts in girls. There are many natural remedies that you can use for stretch mark removal. Some of them are:

Potato juice

Take a slice of potato and gently rub it over the area that has stretch marks. Starch present in potato soothes the skin and antioxidants in the juice prevent cell damage.

Aloe Vera

This miraculous fleshy plant is used to treat various skin problems. The plant collagen in the fleshy stem has many beneficial effects and can be used for stretch mark treatment. Collagen reduces wrinkles, fine lines, and enhances the skin’s elasticity. For best results, use the plant stem instead of the Aloe Vera gels you get in the market.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice can also be used for stretch mark removal. This juice contains vitamin C, which is essential for the production of collagen that maintains the skin’s elasticity. Just cut a lemon into two halves and rub the cut half on the affected part. Let it soak for some time before washing it off. Lemon also acts like a bleaching agent, reducing skin darkening.

The other home remedies for stretch mark removal are castor oil, olive oil, sugar, almond juice, and more. Take good care of your skin and use natural treatment methods to prevent side effects.
