Fascinating Experiences in Italy

In the heart of the Mediterranean Sea lies the country of Italy. This country borders France, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia, San Marino, and Vatican City sits in its center. Italyhas more World Heritage Sites than any other country, fifty-one in total; and is one of the best places to experience the best and most delicious Italian foods in the world. F

Culture, shopping, wine, and nightlife can all be found within the city of Florence. Anyone who wants to enhance their cultural experience will want to embrace the opera, classical music, and contemporary art while visiting this city. There are several unique shops and crafts available in Florence and people can shop all day long before entering a restaurant for their evening meal. Even when the day ends, people can stay out and have fun with others who want to experience the nightlife that Florence is famous for.

Venice seems to be completely on water and therefore many people seem to venture there during their holiday. There are many secret squares, the Gothic Palazzi(public building like a palace or museum), and numerous neighborhood wine bars within Venice. Strolling along the waterways is popular, but gondola rides are a better way to see everything that this magnificent city has to offer.

Classical ruins and places of worship may bring many people into this city for the first time, but it is trattorias(restaurant or tavern) and unique shops that keep them returning.

It is all about the fashion in Milan and people can be seen by the thousands shopping in designer stores in the Quadrilatero D’Oro district before heading to the designer outlets, high-end shops, and boutiques that are all over the city. With so many people visiting this city, it is no wonder that the restaurant scene is trendier than other areas of the country.

Sicily is home to Mount Etna, which is Europe’s tallest active volcano. While the volcano is interesting, many people also visit this city to see Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples and Palermo’s Baroque churches.

The five villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Monterosso, and Corniglia are all part of the Cinque Terre. The landscape of this area includes steep cliffs and wine terraces that date back hundreds of years. Many of the hiking trails have been around for centuries and they offer fabulous views of the coast. Everyone can walk to any of these villages along the Blue Trail.

Italian food may be the first thing that people think about as they are planning a trip to Italy, but then as the planning continues, they will be drawn in by all of the historic attractions and available views. With so many places to visit in Italy, a person’s first trip to Italy is fabulous, but each subsequent time is even better than the one before.
