JEE MAIN 2018: All there is to Know Before You Begin

The JEE Main 2018 Admit Cards have been set to be released in the second week of March 2018. The JEE Main in the most popular single competitive engineering entrance exam in India. The exam is conducted by the CBSE to grant admission to students into B.E. /B. Tech and B. Arch courses. Candidates must note that they will be able to get admission into various NITs, CFTIs and other engineering colleges/ institutions in the country.

JEE Mains 2018 Exam Pattern:

 

Paper 1:

  • Conducted for granting admission to B.E/ B. Tech courses.
  • The exam mode has been set for both offline (Pen Based Test) as well as online mode (Computer Based Test) for the ease of the candidates.
  • Paper 1 comprises subjects like; Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • Total Number of Questions that will be asked from each subject stands at 90 questions per section wise subject division.
  • Paper 1 only has Objective Type Questions.
  • The question paper for all exam cities will be published in English and Hindi languages.
  • Candidates will have a total of 3 hours to complete Paper 1 of JEE Main 2018
  • Make note of the fact that JEE Main 2018 Paper 1 has no negative marking scheme.

Paper 2:

 

  • The exam is conducted to grant admission to candidates into B. Arch/ B. Planning courses.
  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen based test)
  • A total of 30 questions in the paper will come from Mathematics, 50 questions from Aptitude Test and 2 questions from the Drawing section, which makes for a total for 390 marks.
  • Mathematics & Aptitude sections will have Objective Type questions; the last 2 questions require subjective answers.
  • All questions papers to be released in the English and Hindi languages.
  • Time duration for the exam stands at 3 hours yet again.
  • Each correct answer makes for 4 marks and, each incorrect answer will deduct 1 marks from the score.
