Sleep has a direct effect on your mental and physical health and the quality of your waking life. Falling short of “zzzz’s can really effect your daytime energy, emotional balance productivity and not to mention even your weight. Yet many of us regularly toss and turn at night, struggling to get the sleep we need and with the stressful lives we lead, what’s the solution?

With the right kinds of bed comforters, bed sheets, bed covers, cushion and cushion covers, ensuring the right kind of sleep just gets easier! Here are 4 ways that you can get a better night rest!

1) Set a sleep schedule- and stick to it!

According to doctors, if you do only one thing to improve your sleep -go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every morning—even on weekends. A regular sleep routine in your bed keeps your biological clock stay steady, so you rest better. Your body responds well to schedule and timely routines and before you know it your eyes will be droopy right in time.

2)Take a Relaxing Bath or Shower

Your temperature naturally dips at night, starting two hours before sleep and is at its least at 5 a.m., according to a 1997 study conducted by New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in White Plains, N.Y. When you have a warm shower, your body temperature rises—and the rapid cool-down period that follows it relaxes you.

3) No Phone Zone

Keep your bed a no phone zone post 10 pm. It might be tempting to scroll through your Instagram feed and chat away on that WhatsApp group just before crawling into your bed comforter, but the practice could increase the amount of time you toss and turn. Lit screens (that includes televisions too) are stimulating, so it's best to avoid them. Additionally, the blue light emitted by screens on cell phones, computers, tablets, and televisions restrain the production of melatonin, the hormone that controls your sleep/wake cycle. To make sure that your tech isn’t affecting you its recommended to have a 30 min buffer period before you hit the bed sheets.

4) Clear your head

Sleep and a busy mind are arch enemies and therefore it’s important to make a clear choice between one and the other. Whatever method you choose, your goal is to have a clear mind before you settle into bed under that bed cover. Take some time in the evening to work through the day, make lists to do tomorrow and clear your mental desktop of the stuff that you still have to think about. Once everything is out of your brain and onto paper you’ll find getting into your bed sheets and cushions much easier.

5) Set the atmosphere

Whether you sleep with your comfy blankets or your army of cushions, being comfortable is the most important part of a good night’s sleep. Bed covers are a great way to keep your bed dust- free so you feel clean every time you snuggle in at night. All in all just make sure your linen is comfortable, a personal favourite is the newest collection at www.spaces.in that never disappoints!
