Basic Door Security

Outside doors like front, back, terrace, and balcony doors should be made of metal or hardwood with a certain level of thickness depending on the level of security you want to ensure. Also, consider the sizes of your windows, because any opening that could fit a head is already a risk and require some level of security like locks. Grilles or bars installed in front of your windows are something to consider for first level of security and great to be partnered by locks. However, if grilles or bars are not your style, considering a locking handle or snap lock for windows are also a must, because they require opened by keys from the inside. Again, deadbolts are the best so consider having other similar locks to be installed into your windows, especially those which are easily reached from the outside.

Lastly, always educate yourself with security standards set by the government to avoid purchasing any unnecessary security systems. These standards are thoroughly studied and set because it based on different burglary cases that happened in your country.
