What is Google AdWords?

Before we get into what is Google AdWords let me give you a bit of insight on Google as a company in general.

Did you know that Google manages over 40.000 searches per second which means over 4 billion searches every day!  That is a just mind-boggling number of search queries that Google needs to process every single year, and that didn’t happen overnight. 

Google was established in 1998 and at that time had only around 10.000 searches per day. Having said that after only 12 months of existence Google was processing an astonishing 3.5 million queries every single day. What happened next was the era of constant Google expansion leading to 1.2 trillion searches per year in 2018.

Obviously, Google is the most important search engine today but is not the only one. There are other search engines such as Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Yandex but they are so far behind Google in terms of search volume. The Google holds an enormous 80% of the market followed by Bing and Yahoo.

These figures just paint the picture of Google’s importance in today’s world.  For those that have any kind of business and online exposure, Google will bring visitors and potential clients to their website 365 days a year.

The Question is How Google Makes its Money?

It is through the Google AdWords and in 2017 they had over 95 billion US dollars of revenue. Which is more than a 15% increase if compared to previous 2016.

So what is Google AdWords?

It is an online advertising platform that gives control and opportunity for individual advertisers and digital marketing companies that offer ppc management services to bring pre-qualified customers to their business website. Businesses, in general, are mainly focusing on getting new customers and Google can expose their business to potential customers 24/7. This way companies do not have to chase after customers, what is actually happening is that customers are coming to businesses. Google as the main search engine will bring your company in front of the right people no matter if you are a small business owner or the big multinational company. Small or big company businesses have to decide are they going to have an in-house PPC team or they will get a PPC Agency to manage their AdWords campaigns.
