According to Fortune News, owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha of football club Leicester City sat in the helicopter crashed near the stadium. The British broadcaster relies on sources near the Thai billionaire's family.

The helicopter collapsed on Saturday at a parking lot near the stadium of the club and caught fire. No announcements have yet been made about possible victims. Vichai, who earned his money in retail, is one of the richest people in Thailand.

The 61-year-old billionaire is the founder of store chain King Power. He is picked up from the field with his helicopter after every home game of Leicester City.

According to witnesses, the helicopter had taken off from the field, and the aircraft crashed into the parking lot after the stadium was deserted.

The King Power Stadium was immediately evacuated due to the fire that caused the crash. The fire department could quickly extinguish the fire.

Vice-President Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, son of the owner, and director Jon Rudkin were not in the helicopter. Leicester City states in a short statement that it fully cooperates with the research that is ongoing. "A more comprehensive statement comes as soon as all information is clear," said a spokesperson.

The club decided not to let the Leicester City women's team against Manchester United scheduled for Sunday due to the accident. Vichai bought Leicester City in 2010. In 2016, the football club unexpectedly won the title in the Premier League.

The accident happened after the game between Leicester City and West Ham United, which ended in 1-1. Leicester, which in 2016 became a very surprising champion of England, currently occupies the twelfth place in the Premier League.
