How to connect Bluetooth Headphones with television?

If you are a television lover and love watching late night movies plus soap operas, then night will be your favorite time as you are all by yourself. 

So if you want to watch television at night without disturbing others who are sleeping or if you want to block out the noise of your surroundings, then connecting wireless Bluetooth earbuds to your television is a great option.

It is not that difficult and there are a number of ways you can use irrespective of what TV you own.

Dedicated wireless headphones

If you are among those who don’t have built-in Bluetooth in the Television and are looking out for various ways of connecting wireless headphones, so that is not a big issue.

The best way to go for this method is to buy purchase dedicated wireless headphones. These are present with a base station that plugs into the television via 3.5mm analogue jack or optical and works over radio frequency instead of Bluetooth. The main advantage of this is the range.

Bluetooth wireless earbuds are typically linked to 30 feet, give or take. RF headphones often comprise of a more superior range -- closer to 300 feet when unobstructed.

There is a catch, however. If you do not have another audio device attached to your television through that jack, such as a sound bar, you will have to change it for the headphones when you want to go wireless.

Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds

If you already have headphones that are Bluetooth compatible, all you basically require is a Bluetooth transmitter. Transmitters can be purchased from local electronics retailers or online.

Basically, it requires a 3.5mm or RCA output from your television and transmits it as a Bluetooth signal.

You will also require a power source usually called as USB which you will be able to grab from the USB port on the television or plug into a power strip in your entertainment system.

Once you connect the transmitter with your Bluetooth headphones, setup is already and you can start watching shows or movies with the audio streaming by using your favorite headphones.

Media Streamers

There are certain set-top boxes which allow you to connect headphones and listen to your movies and TV shows in private.  They are Roku, Apple TV, and Android TV boxes. This is one of the best stress-free ways to connect your headphone wit television.

Android TV

It is not always that Bluetooth audio devices on Android TV boxes are accepted. However there are certain which support Bluetooth headphones, and you pair them just as you would go for with any other Android device.

Keep the headphones into pairing mode, go to Settings > Bluetooth and choose the headphones when they come into view.

Apple TV

Even Apple TV gives you access to connect Bluetooth headphones. All you need to do is keep the headphones into pairing mode and go to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Bluetooth.

Then look into the screen and see them when the options of connecting headphones appear and then you can select that to pair and connect.

Amazon Fire TV

Even with Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, you can connect the Bluetooth headphones. First, keep your Bluetooth headphones in pairing mode and on the Fire TV or Fire TV Stick, click the option of the Settings > Controllers and Bluetooth Devices > Other Bluetooth Devices.

Once your headphones are there under Discovered Devices, select them to complete the pairing procedure.

Roku

You can even opt for private listening in Roku. All you need to do is to download the Roku app, to your Android or iOS device and make sure your phone is in connection with the same wireless network as your Roku.

Open the app and then connect either wired or Bluetooth headphones to your phone and private listening will begin.
