Analysis of Belt Driving Force of Belt Conveyor - Mechanical Manufacturing

Before studying the stress and deformation characteristics of belt conveyor before and after belt tearing, the essence of belt transmission, i.e. the stress state and stress reaction of belt in belt transmission, should be analyzed first.

In the mechanical transmission system of belt conveyor, belt transmission is often used to transmit motion or power. In the long-term industrialization process, belt drive has made great progress. The main types are: flat belt transmission; V-belt transmission; Synchronous belt transmission, etc. Flat belt transmission has higher tensile strength, better retention performance of pretightening force, better moisture resistance, but lower overload bearing capacity, and poorer heat resistance and oil resistance. V - belt transmission has larger friction force than flat belt transmission, small allowable wrap angle, large transmission ratio, small shaft spacing, small pretightening force, small outline size, soft belt made of rope core, good fatigue resistance against bending. Synchronous belt driven by meshing has accurate speed ratio, high transmission efficiency, small initial tensioning force, small shaft pressing force, compact structure, good oil resistance and wear resistance, but high requirements for installation and manufacturing. These three types are widely used in industrial production. From the perspective of principle, various types of belt transmission have their commonness, so it is of great significance to study the stress state and the stress reaction of the belt in the belt transmission when studying the belt tearing of the belt conveyor.

In the belt transmission of belt conveyor, the belt is on two pulleys with a certain initial tension--So. If So exists, the contact surface between belt and pulley will produce positive pressure, and the product of multiplying positive pressure by friction coefficient is friction force. When the belt transmission does not work, the pulling forces on both sides of the belt are equal and equal to So. When the belt transmission works, the driving wheel rotates at the rotation speed n1, then the driven wheel rotates at the rotation speed n2 due to the friction force on the contact surface between the belt and the belt wheel. At this moment, the pulling forces on both sides of the belt also changes accordingly: the side of the belt entering the driving wheel is tightened, called the tight side, the tight side tension transforms from So to S1; the side of the belt entering the driven wheel is relaxed, called the loose side, and the loose side tension transforms from So to S2.

In the belt transmission, the effective circumferential force P of the belt transmission is the difference between the tight side tension and the loose side tension, and has the following relationship: P=S1-S2

The power that the belt can transmit is: n = PV / 1000kw.
