Will the Samsung Galaxy S10 be getting a performance upgrade?

Posted by Daniel John on September 3rd, 2019

Since the Samsung Note series will use the same processor as the S series, performance is rarely seen as a major highlight, and this year may be a bit different! Samsung’s official Twitter announcement will launch the next-generation Exynos processor on August 8th, Taiwan, on the same day as the Note 10 presentation, which is equivalent to indirectly revealing the important upgrade of the new flagship!

In the official film, Samsung did not disclose too much data information, only use keywords to imply "performance evolution", "new generation performance", reasonable deduction refers to the Exynos 9825 processor! In July of this year, Geekbench, a running platform, already had a Samsung mobile phone codenamed "SM-N970F". It was the first to use the Exynos 9825 processor and pay the single-core 4495 and multi-core 10223 running scores.

Compared with the Exynos 9820 used by S10, the single-core running score is about 4200 points, and the multi-core is 9832. Exynos 9825 has a certain range of performance growth. However, compared to the S10 Qualcomm S855 processor version, Samsung Exynos is still lagging behind in multi-core scores. Since Exynos 9825 has not yet been officially launched, Geekbench's platform scores are expected to be for reference only, and Samsung is still expected to continue to push the scores.

Perhaps the most noteworthy aspect of the Exynos 9825 is that it may use the same 8nm process as the Qualcomm S855. Compared with the previous generation Exynos 9820, it will bring better performance and save energy. It depends on whether Samsung can make consumers through the new processor. I  was amazed at the performance of Note 10!

As usual, Samsung will introduce two versions of Note 10, which use its own Exynos and Qualcomm processors. It is still unclear whether the Qualcomm version will be S855 or S855+. Taiwan has been listed on the Exynos version in the past.

Anyway, we are still waiting for more Samsung updates.
