CANOVA HALL LAUNCHES, CELEBRATING BRIXTON’S SOULFUL BUZZ

Posted by CANOVA HALL on November 11th, 2019

Canova Hall breathes new air into one of Brixton’s most commemorated buildings on 250 Ferndale Road, SW9 8BQ. Celebrating one of London’s most exciting areas this opening will be honouring the provenance of what used to be the beloved worker’s hall of Britain’s first department store Le Bon Marché across the road. Canova Hall and its eclectic all-day and late-night offering welcomes in locals and all those visiting the neighbourhood to enjoy, relax and indulge as the buzz, utility and grandeur of a timeless old market canteen sets the tone.

All day and night the food is centred on natural fuel with an authentic wood oven imported from Modena, Italy, delivering quality, simple food. Everything on the menu is fresh, from their 48-hour fermented pizza dough to their homemade pastas, both made every day in the restaurant. They use the best ingredients they can, cook from scratch and focus each dish on delivering 12/10 flavours.  From their House Tagliatelle, with stracciatella, pink peppercorns and gremolata to Smokey Rigatoni with smoked acrmoza, pistachio pesto and rosemary.  They are bringing the best pizzas from their sister bar Martello Hall in Hackney.  There is the best-selling Rock Star Margherita and Smokey Bandit alongside some new pizzas like The Hot Don with ‘nduja, finocchiona, pickled chillies, hot red pesto and oregano, making Canova hall one of the Best Restaurants in Brixton London.

Looking for Brixton Brunch Places, then Canova Hall is perfect place.  They have great Bottomless Brunch every weekend.

Evenings at Canova Hall mirror Brixton’s life and soul as cocktail trolleys offer gin and all the accompaniments for making your own drinks. Beautiful booths line the windows at Canova Hall creating a perfect Lounge Bar in Brixton. If you'd prefer to be waited on you can ‘Book a Bartender’ and they will conjure up a mix of creative cocktails for you at your table as young London DJ’s and live bands play music into the early hours, making it a great Late Night Bar in Brixton.

Designed by Red Deer with a strong influence on the building’s history, utilitarian Edwardian detailing and indications of faded Art Deco frame a blue collar bustle met with inspirations of the world’s most authentic food halls and markets; San Telmo in Buenos Aires, Mercado San Miguel in Madrid and the Boqueria of Barcelona. The venue’s narrative compliments the day-time, relaxed workspace environment offering hot-desking, fast Wi-Fi and great coffee.

The team’s love of gin has by no means been diminished - having perfected their distilling skills with their on-site gin distillery ‘Nicola’ at Martello Hall, they are going bigger and better at Brixton with a new bespoke American still called ‘Grace’. Those looking to take Canova Hall’s distinctive gin flavours home will be able to do so with small batches of both the Canova Gin and Martello Gin being sold at both sites.

Sarah Weir, Founder of Albion and East said: “This is such an exciting project with so many amazing people involved.  Brixton is a close-knit and vibrant community, like Hackney, and we are privileged to become part of it.”

Open 7 days a week from early morning to 1am (Friday and Saturday), Canova Hall will cater to your whole day. Be it the wage earners hot-desking with the bottomless coffee flowing or the late night revelers sipping on cocktails whilst dancing to deep dug vinyl gems, Canova Hall is always there for you.
