The social media marketing game has always been in a state of constant flux, but the game has changed a lot in the course of past 3 years than in the previous 6 months period.

Reason?

There are a lot of factors in the play here, a lot of platforms have come into the fold, a lot of platforms have dramatically evolved like never before and lastly, consumer behavior is changing which is intractable.

The #1 Social Media Marketing Trend Marketers need to keep an eye out for is the adoption of vertical content

SnapChat was the one who got people hooked to the vertical content with its ephemeral content delivering social media platform, but it's steam didn't last much longer.

Instagram was quick to replicate this feature, in it's Instagram Stories and soon there were more Instagram Stories users. The only good thing about SnapChat was its vertical disappearing content which Instagram has replicated.

But Instagram didn't stop there, it later introduced an extension of vertical content delivery. I'm talking about "IGTV"

Users can effortlessly start their own TV-Like channel on Instagram in its IGTV. HubSpot & Foundr were the early adopters of this feature.

In the beginning, people weren't so vary of this, but now it's all over the place. Everyone's hooked to IGTV.

Vertical content is killing it, it's all over the place. Pinterest has become a HUGE hit lately, over the past 6 months' time frame, Pinterest as added nearly 30 Million more users; Pinterest which is again a vertical content network.

And who can forget about TikTok, I mean TikTok is the only platform who added 500 Million Active Monthly users at the fastest rate.

So, yeah the social media trend to follow in 2020 is definitely Vertical Content if you aren't following it already.
