If you’ve been playing golf for a while, you probably frequent the market trying to find golf clubs for your use.  It is possible that in your search, you come across some golf clubs with names like Acer, PowerPlay and Excel that are being offered as cheap golf clubs for sale.  These golf clubs are also often seen on the golf course, carried by other golfers, some of which may even be your friends.  The cheap clubs with brands known to all professional golfers are what you call the clone golf clubs. They have become very popular among golfers because they offer a cheaper alternative to the clubs with brand names.

Some manufacturers of golf clubs make re-creations of clubs from the big brands. They copy the designs and use the available components such as heads, shaft and grips to build their own golf clubs.  They then bring the clubs to the marketplace and offer as cheap golf clubs for sale.  Other companies order their club heads custom built from abroad (China), buy the shafts and grips and then assemble the golf clubs according to their buyers’ specifications. The famous names you are already familiar with are examples of clone golf club manufacturers.

When a brand’s new golf club design hits the market and become successful, manufacturers of clone golf clubs copy this design, using the same materials and manufacturing process as the brands.  Then they add the same grips and shafts that the brand names use. When the assembly is completed, these golf clubs are marketed direct to the consumers.  Usually, they use the internet to offer their cheap golf clubs for sale. The cost to develop a clone club head is much less than the brands, so they are also sold for less.

But the big question is:  Are clone golf clubs as good as the brand names? The answer is no, they are not.  While they use almost the same materials and the same manufacturing process, it still depends on how reliable was the quality control in the manufacturing process.  It also depends on how good the clone club manufacturers did their job.  A sure way to find out is to know how these manufacturers very well stand behind their products. Is there a warranty?  Are there options offered for custom fitting?  Is there a trial period with money back guarantee? If the manufacturer of these cheap golf clubs for sale can give a YES answer to all questions asked above, then you may get almost the full value of a brand name club at only 1/3 of the price.

So, should you buy and use a clone golf club?  It is up to your needs.  It has been mentioned that clone clubs are a great value. And they are cheaper alternatives to brand names.  If your game does not particularly require first and absolute quality,  and if you’re a beginner, or an intermediate golfer, then who will beat the clone clubs.
