Slovenia offers visitors breathtakingPosted by John Jespersen on January 25th, 2020 Located at a strategic crossroads in Europe, Slovenia has known a history composed of dominations until its independence in 1991, and then its integration into the European Union and the Otan in 2004.
Located in the center of the country, Slovenia is a beautiful medium-sized capital, where it is pleasant to walk on foot and tour the central market and the beautiful Catholic and Orthodox churches, a beautiful historical heritage. The capital gives a sample of the multicultural nature of the country, in which religious matters seem to have been treated with serenity and tolerance. When you go out at night you will find an underground environment sometimes envied by the great European capitals. Slovenes are quite hospitable to visitors, and if you stop at Maribor, you can't miss trying local white wine production. On the road to the Adriatic coast, make a stop on the shore of the largest intermittent lake on the continent, Lake Cerknica. But you may prefer to make the legendary ascent of Mount Triglav, the highest summit in the country, and in the center of one of the largest nature reserves in Europe, Triglav National Park . For winter sports fans, come and see a beautiful ski resort, Kranjska Gora, where it is nice to be in both winter and summer. Then, go south to follow the course of the beautiful La Soca River, with its blue and green waters of extraordinary clarity. While touring, you could stop in many of the picturesque Slovenian villages. For fans of caving, do not miss the Skocjan Caves, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, or the Postojna Grotto, an authentic underground labyrinth. Finally, for lovers of baroque art and postcard photos, approach Bled, with its church located on an islet in the middle of a turquoise lake. Like it? Share it!More by this author |
