That’s not all, production houses are also banking heavily on period dramas and historical fiction.  That is because people seem to have developed a taste. The genre remains niche oriented but its viewership is expanding at a considerable rate.  

Short and crisp shows attract more eyeballs

Yes, not everybody likes a 100-episode long Hindi TV serial. Producers seem to have realized this fact. They are now creating shows that are short, ad-free and do not contain elaborate song and dance sequences. These shows, most of the time, are fast, action-packed and engaging. The idea behind creating short and crisp serials is to attract and maintain the attention of a viewer. It’s far more engaging than several TV shows because it succeeds in holding the viewer’s attention.

More and more actors can be seen shifting from the big screen to the small screen

Yes, some of the biggest actors and actresses can be seen shifting from the big screen to the smaller ones. Actors working in such online shows and web series enjoy a lot of recognition because a considerable number of people are watching online shows.  The amount of effort required is lower and the amount of recognition is way more than expected.
