How I found my favorite Barbershop in Halifax

When I moved to Halifax from Calgary 3 years ago I was leaving behind one of the services that I value the most.

That's having a reliable barbershop and barber that you trust.

I'm not sure if other people are picky like me. But I tend to be pretty picky about what makes a good barbershop.

I look for the following:

- Incredible hair cut (obviously)

- Luxurious items, like having a beer fridge, sports on TV, or head massages

- Warm foam straight razor shaves because we all like having clean lines

You'd be surprised at how many places dissapoint me. I usually try to go at least twice to a barbershop before switching.

When I find a place that satisfies all those requirements I usually stay.

When I was looking for a barber shop in Halifax I struggled. I probably went to 14 barbershops over the course of 2.5 years until I finally found one that I liked.

That was Sarah at Old Pine Barbershop. Probably the best part about it was the head massages! Just like in hair salons when they wash and massage your scalp, Sarah does this all too!

That's a first for barbershops that I've been to and I think I'll be using her for quite some time to come.

FYI The shop I was forced to leave in Calgary was Barber Culture
