Prevent Thatch with the Right Atlanta?Lawn?Care

Thatch is a dense layer of various decaying plant parts and roots that is located in the area between the grass of your lawn and the soil.  This is the main cause of thinning and is also a big reason for making your lawn more susceptible to different weeds and even disease.  Of course, thatch is a normal phenomenon that happens in the soil and is also good for the grass if it is at the right density level.  It helps prevent the soil from compacting and it protects the crowns of the plants.  However, it is when the thatch becomes too dense that it starts to become a problem of atlanta lawn care.  A thatch that is too dense will prevent water and fertilizers from penetrating deep into the soil.  This means that your plants and grass will not be able to get the right amount of water and fertilizer they need to become lush, healthy, and thick.  You would have to put in additional atlanta lawn treatment to fix the problem.

Prevent Lawn Thatch

Poor lawn care Atlanta will usually lead to very dense thatch.  This could include the wrong amount of watering and the wrong amount of fertilizer.  The right way to water your lawn is to do it infrequently and deeply rather than frequently and shallowly.  The former will encourage the grass roots to dig deep into the soil to get water and to develop properly.  The latter, on the other hand, forces the roots to stay near the surface which allows thatch to accumulate between the roots and the soil.
