They have aliases such as automatic knife, pushbutton knife, springer or ejector knife. The automatic knives are opened automatically by a spring. The spring plays the main role in opening and keeps the blade in the opened condition. The spring is activated when a lever, button or switch on the knife is pressed or activated. Now, the next task is to keep the blade opened till required. The knife should not get closed automatically or accidentally. For this, there is a locking blade mechanism which prevents the blade to close or fold automatically. So there is no chance of the blade getting closed on its own or on wrong interference. There are also no chances of the blade folded on pressure from the opposite site of the blade. In case, one needs to close the knife, she or he has to do it manually. The procedure must be initiated manually. This way the blade is folded and kept back in the locked position.
